Americans have never suffered the humiliation we now suffer as Biden took our victory in Afghanistan — Trump had the Taliban at bay — and gave the country back to the Taliban along with $90 billion in cash and war materiel. This is treason by a man who voted for the war.We won. The Taliban had stopped fighting us. No soldier had been killed since February 2020.
Then Biden inexplicably threw his hands up, announced we were leaving, and the Taliban blew up 13 soldiers.
He left thousands of Americans behind.
Our people are stunned. Our enemies laugh in our face. Our allies distrust us. Our soldiers are angry.
Meanwhile, on the covid front, our gargantuan medical bureaucracy has resorted to superstition to stop a virus that frankly is unstoppable. Masks and social distancing have zero science behind them.
Ivermectin has success and is approved for human use by the FDA. Dismissing it as a horse de-wormer is ignorant, an ignorance the media flaunts in its usual way.
In Australia, the rules are so strict that an actress observed, “Australia was a penal colony, and it kind of feels like that now.”
But this is America and at some point people rebel against treason and incompetence.
Glenn Reynolds sees rebellion happening in the barracks and officers quarters.
After dismissing Milley as the silly communist he is, Reynolds wrote, “the officers who actually do things are furious. A series of encrypted messages leaked to the media shows officers on the ground in Kabul blasting their orders, complaining that they were being forced to leave Americans behind. ‘We are f–king abandoning American citizens,’ wrote a colonel with the 82d Airborne detachment there. Regular troops were reportedly apoplectic that they weren’t allowed to go rescue US citizens, as British and French forces did.
“As this debacle unfolds, the field- and company-grade officers — captains through colonels — are complaining about a double standard in military management: If they screw up even a little, their careers are over. But when the generals screw up, there are no consequences, even when lives or billions of dollars are wasted; then they retire to fat contractor paychecks.
“Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller resigned his commission after Kabul to demand accountability from his superiors. He couldn’t stay, he said, because he had lost trust and confidence in them. His words have been echoed, publicly and in private, by many others of similar rank. (I received an email from a serving general making the same points.)”
Meanwhile, a new chant was heard in the stands in the opening weekend of college football: Fuck Biden.
Is there any phrase more American than Fuck You?
Don’t expect the media to support the chant like they did athletes disrespecting the flag and the national anthem. Only officially sanctioned protests are allowed by the sheep on press row.
But the anger is there. And anger gets stuff done.
In 1992, anger led to people putting H. Ross Perot on the ballot in all 50 states, which derailed the first Bush presidency.
Two years later, anger gave Republicans their first House majority in 40 years. That class of Republicans actually worked for the people and things went well for a while.
In 2010, anger gave the House back to Republicans, but by then its leaders had sold out. John Boehner, who was elected as a reformer in 1990, sold out. Bigly.
In 2016, anger gave us President Donald John Trump. The deep state sabotaged his presidency and then sabotaged his re-election.
That steal kept the anger growing, and anger from the left may join it. Of all people, Robert Kennedy Jr. spoke at a Ron Paul Institute conference. Kennedy went over the misleading data from the CDC.
He said, “All of these mechanics appear to be deliberately manipulated to put our population in a state of fear — and what happens when you have a population in fear? The complete obliteration of critical thinking.”
On top of all that, Democrats stole the election and gave us a president who blithers. Consider his recent statement on the weather damage of Hurricane Ida.
Biden said, “The members of Congress know, from their colleagues in Congress, that, uh, you know, the, looks like a tornado, they don’t call them that anymore, that hit the crops and wetlands in the middle of the country, in Iowa and Nevada. It’s just across the board.”
He is lost in a word salad.
Can we all agree he is cracking under pressure?
People say Fuck Biden because they do not fear him. Nobody does. Why should they? The Taliban didn’t, and look what they got.
In his New York Post column, Reynolds reminded readers how the Taliban gained control of their country.
He wrote, “Afghanistan collapsed overnight, because its people lacked faith in its institutions and in those who led them. And no nation is immune to that collapse, if run badly enough for long enough.”
As someone far wiser than any of us wrote 245 years ago, “When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
“Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”
