Biden unravels Nixon’s best success

Conservatives rightly credit Lech Walesa, Pope John Paul II, Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan for the inevitable collapse of the Soviet Union.

Overlooked is Richard Nixon’s brilliant Two Chinas strategy in which he played the two communist powers against one another. He exploited a little known rivalry between Mao and the Kremlin by visiting Peking (now Beijing) and formally recognizing the existence of Red China.

On September 17, 1981, the Washington Post reported that the FBI had inside information. This was 41 years ago when WaPo was a gray lady and not the crazy cat lady it is today,

WaPo said, “For more than 25 years, an operation code-named Solo has been one of the FBI’s most jealously guarded secrets. The information it produced was sometimes deemed important enough to be handed directly to presidents.”

The story also said, “Solo was the protective cover for two brothers recruited and paid to infiltrate the highest echelons of the American Communist Party. In the 1950s, sources said, one became the courier of up to $1 million a year in secret contributions by the Soviet Union to sustain the struggling party. This was cited to support J. Edgar Hoover’s claims about the communist threat within.

“More important, knowledgeable intelligence officials said, the two men traveled abroad and were accepted as confidants by communist leaders, enabling them to return to their FBI handlers with news about the intentions of communist-bloc officials. One even had his picture taken with Soviet leader Leonid I. Brezhnev. For years, they were considered the FBI’s most important counter-intelligence assets.”

Yes, boys and girls, Joe McCarthy was right. Stalin financed American communists, as did his successors.

Brothers Jack and Morris Childs were communists for the FBI for 25 years after a falling out with Gus Hall, who ruled and stole from the party for 40 years.

They accompanied Hall on his annual trips to Moscow to get instructions from the party’s leaders.

Nixon used that insider information to the free world’s advantage.

Now, 50 years later, Biden has brought the Kremlin and Beijing back together again. His stupid economic sanctions have forced Putin to look east, not west, and partner with Chairman Xi.

Just the News reported, “Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping are planning a meeting next week in Uzbekistan as both nations are facing rising tensions with the West.

“The leaders’ second face-to-face meeting this year is scheduled for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, The Associated Press reported. The two last met during the Beijing Winter Olympics in February, shortly before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. This will be Xi’s first trip abroad since the start of the covid pandemic in early 2020.

“The meeting comes as Putin is facing sanctions over the war in Ukraine while Xi is tackling tensions with the West over China’s treatment of Uyghur Muslims and Taiwan.”

Seizing yachts and bank accounts has its consequences. Already, Putin is cutting off energy supplies to our NATO allies in the hope of freezing them out.

Putin said, “”We have not lost anything and will not lose anything. In terms of what we have gained, I can say that the main gain has been the strengthening of our sovereignty.”

But the real threat is replacing Western banking with a Second World system. Brazil, Russia, India and China can form their own system without the fear of a madman in the West — aka Biden — going bonkers with economic sanctions that run roughshod over banking protocols and individual property rights.

Nixon played Moscow and Peking (Beijing) against one another.

Biden has brought them together.

This is not a good development.
